Café com... Isabel Silvestre

Tem 83 anos, mas mantém a vitalidade e a paixão de uma jovem, sempre movida pela vontade de preservar as tradições da sua terra natal, Manhouce. Isabel Silvestre, conhecida como "a professora da Benta", é uma mulher que correu o mundo, levando consigo a força e autenticidade do canto tradicional português. Fez-se ouvir ao lado de nomes como Rão Kyao, Rui Reininho e Vitorino e com as Vozes de Manhouce, tornando-se um símbolo da cultura popular. Hoje, Isabel dedica-se a um novo objetivo: ver o canto a três vozes das mulheres da sua aldeia elevado a Património Cultural Imaterial.

She is 83 years old, but retains the vitality and passion of a young woman, always driven by the desire to preserve the traditions of her hometown, Manhouce. Isabel Silvestre, known as “Benta's teacher”, is a woman who has traveled the waorld, taking with her the strength and authenticity of traditional Portuguese singing. She has been heard alongside names such as Rão Kyao, Rui Reininho and Vitorino and with the Vozes de Manhouce, becoming a symbol of popular culture. Today, Isabel is dedicated to a new goal: to see the three-voice singing of the women of her village elevated to Intangible Cultural Heritage.
